MADINA LAKE CONTEST ( UK )

Posted in BAND, Blog by dylan | Wednesday, March 10th, 2010

“It took years of blood sweat and tears just to get Madina Lake an opening slot on a Sunday at Metro in Chicago. Every time a national touring band was coming through, all the local bands we’re like piranha on a skirt steak trying to get on the bill. It rarely happened but in the one or two instances that we got the show, it immensely helped our profile. Many years later, Madina Lake is lucky enough to be in a position to provide this opportunity to new bands. It gets really political and crazy with booking agents, managers, labels etc..vying for slots on a decent tour, but Madina doesn’t play that game. We want new bands, local to the city we’ll be playing, to have a chance to get in front of an audience and do their thing. Thanks to everyone involved in allowing us to do this, Atticus, 5BAM mgmt and Ross Warnick at Agency Group and most importantly, to the bands that want it. Good luck, see you out there!”

BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE

Posted in BAND, Blog by dylan | Saturday, February 6th, 2010

Not to be mistaken with the movie “My Bloody Valentine” which was just terrible, i mean even in 3D the movie was crap. But i’m getting off subject here. Bullet For My Valentine is pretty much the opposite of that movie, and by that way of thinking, it means they are pretty good. Here is a shot from their 2010 calendar with Moose wearing some Atticus. I’m sorry i have to say again how awful the movie My Bloody Valentine is. ok i’m done.

SILVERSTEIN X ATTICUS

Posted in BAND, Blog by dylan | Friday, February 5th, 2010

Silverstein got their name from the children author Shel Silverstein, who wrote a book called “The Giving Tree”, i read it and just don’t get it. that tree gave everything to the kid and the kid was a jerk about it always wanting more. The tree should have taken a page out of a the Poltergeist movie and came to life and put that kid straight, i’m just saying. I’m not sure our friends in Silverstein will appreciate my book review, but if you are in their hometown of Canada at the end of this month you can catch them on tour and ask them.

ENTER SHIKARI’S ROU REYNOLDS

Posted in BAND, Blog by dylan | Thursday, February 4th, 2010

Enter Shikari is a pretty awesome band to see live. They haven’t quite pooped whoops! typo but i thought it was funny so i’m keeping it. i meant “popped” here in the states but i’m sure their day will come. So when they do come through you should see them while they are still playing smaller venues. Check out this Kerrang interview with Rou, and oh? what’s that he’s wearing?
