Scenes From The Streets #8 – Suicide Silence

Posted in Scenes From The Streets by admin | Tuesday, June 30th, 2009

The bleeding starts today!!! In a ridiculously short time Suicide Silence has grown to be one of the biggest metals bands in the world. They toured relentlessly in support of 2007’s The Cleansing and during that time they managed to create the follow up to that album; this would be one of the most anticipated metal albums in a long time. Well friends the day has come and No Time To Bleed is out TODAY on Century Media Records. You can click here to buy the album and click here to check out the different versions available (including the MAXIMUM BLOODSHED edition). Also, click here to order your CD from our good friends Smartpunk.com with an autographed booklet!

Check out these photos from their blistering set under the blistering sun of Las Vegas at the Extreme Thing festival earlier this year. This is absolutely no joke, there was probably 8 different mosh pits that broke out in the crowd. Suicide Silence was the only real metal band there and a lot of people had never heard of them and didn’t know what to expect. The looks of sheer awe in some of the people’s faces were priceless!! Despite being in an “extreme” metal band these guys are all awesome dudes and are some of our best friends. We have definitely partied with these guys on more than one occasion!! You can catch Suicide Silence on tour all summer long with a variety of awesome bands!!

Check out bassist Dan rockin’ the badass Crosses shirt!!

All Warped and No Play….

Posted in Warped Blog '09 by admin | Monday, June 29th, 2009

Some of the best days spent on Warped Tour are those in which we don’t have a show to attend to. Today is one of those days. Being a sponsor for Warped and part of the production crew, we get to spend our days in hotels that normally I, myself, would not stay in. Today we’re at a golf resort and spa just outside of Phoenix. Palm trees for days and pools that seem like those you’d find only in the movies. We work our butts of during the week to enjoy our 24 hours of heaven in these luxurious resorts.

The only somewhat bad news about Phoenix is the fact that, well, it’s Phoenix. The high for today is 105. I can’t even count that high. You sweat the moment your foot hits the sidewalk outside, and your chances of heat stroke drastically increase. It’s like a full time episode of Fear Factor out here minus Mr. Joe Rogan.

Regardless of weather though, I can assure you that both Bubb and I will enjoy this day to the max. Tomorrow will be spent on the blacktop of one of the hottest cities in the US, and for that, we need a relaxing day to prepare.

The photos attached should give you an idea on how we be livin’ out here in the dessert. People don’t have lawns it’s so freakin’ hot! Just gravel pits that have cactus sticking out of them. Goodbye lawnmower.

Hope all of you reading this are enjoying your day!

A Chilly Day on the Ocean -Warped Ventura

Posted in Warped Blog '09 by admin | Monday, June 29th, 2009

Hot in San Fran, cold in Ventura, what the hell is going on here? Either way another day has come and gone. The people of the greater Ventura area came out for a show, and did they get there money’s worth. The spectacle that is Gallows punched everyone right in the eyes and ears and made there jaws drop. Frank jumps off stage and sings the whole set from the pit with all the kids, it is pure insanity. Check out a few pictures below, and look for a ton more to be posted in an upcoming edition of “Scenes from the Streets” which can also be found right here on AtticusClothing.com in the News&Blog section.

Our good friends in INNERPARTYSYSTEM stopped by the tent to sign some posters, cds, and all sorts of random stuff for the fans. If you are not familiar with these guys, check them out, seriously, do it. It is a great mix of pop, rock, dance, and pure energy. It doesn’t hurt they are the nicest dudes ever.

Ever wonder what it takes to move a giant festival from city to city? Only about 25 semis, 750 people, and a ton of old fashioned elbow grease.

And sometimes it just seems like crazy shit happens for no reason…

See you at the show!

Warped Tour A San Francisco Treat

Posted in Warped Blog '09 by admin | Saturday, June 27th, 2009

Well, I managed to shave my head and sun burn it all within 24 hours, but, not much I can do about that since I hate hats and I work in the sun for 12 hours a day. We are 2 days in now and things are off to a killer start. Pomona, CA was epic hot, and today in San Fran, which is normally pretty mild was hot as hell. I have barely gotten to see any bands play yet, we have been so busy at the tent, and our signings have not even started yet. Tomorrow will see Bayside and INNERPARTYSYSTEM hanging out at our tent doing signings, which we are really excited about, especially since Anthony from Bayside designed a shirt with us that you can get at the signings, or online (click the picture below).

I have to say that A Day to Remember, The Devil Wears Prada, Less Than Jake, and NOFX are killing it! The crowds are massive every day, and are only going to get bigger as we hit bigger shows. Watching a massive crowd underneath the Bay Bridge screaming their heads off is quite a sit, not something rock, punk, ska, or metal fans get to see very often. Check it:

There is a ton of sights, most of which I never have my camera for, but some I do, like these, check out this random guy, all tuckered out sleeping underneath one of our production semis on the cement, and a proud owner of an Atticus tattoo!

Have you ever wondered how 750 people get fed 3 meals a day. Semi-kitchen…not like “semi” part of, but semi, as in 18 wheeler!

One more thing, that you may have seen a sign-up for on the main page of the Atticus site, but you can also enter again on-site at the Warped Tour to win a custom Atticus-Washburn Guitar and a $1000 string and accessory package from Di’Addario. Don’t miss a chance to score some wicked awesome stuff!

Make sure you come say hello to Marcus and I when we are in your town, even though we look funny, we are pretty fun, I promise.

Also, look for a full band signing list coming this week for the rest of the tour including A Day to Remember, Settings, Less Than Jake, INNERPARTYSYSTEM, A Skylit Drive, In This Moment, Emmure, Bayside, and more!!!

Scenes From The Streets #7 – Silverstein

Posted in Scenes From The Streets by admin | Thursday, June 25th, 2009

Things are pretty hectic this week here at Atticus because of that minuscule summer tour that starts tomorrow. It seems like it has been forever since we’ve hit you guys with a new SFTS (that stands for Scenes From The Streets for all you newbies) but we have a pretty good one this time. Remember that “Blame Canada” song from the South Park movie? We can definitely blame Canada for a lot of things; but not everything is crappy. We can blame Canada for the awesomeness that is Silverstein. These Canadians are great guys who make great music; we have the pleasure of being very good friends with all of these guys!

These pictures are from their performance at the Extreme Thing festival in Las Vegas, NV earlier this year. Their set was full of energy and the huge crowd was diggin’ it! Definitely pick up their newest album A Shipwreck in the Sand out now on Victory Records. If you want to see Silverstein live you can catch them on their US/Canadian tour going on NOW!!

P.S. Check out lead singer Shane rockin’ the Atticus Underworld tee!
